Our featured tour of the week is our Essence of India tour
One of our favourite places we visit on this tour is Castle Bijaipur. Built in the 16th century, the castle, inhabited and run by the original rulers who descend from the Udaipur royal family, was converted into a hotel in 1991.
We stay here for two nights on the tour. Surrounded by a small village, farms, forests and hills the castle has a swimming pool, offers yoga and horse rides and we take a jeep safari into surrounding villages ending with sunset drinks at a nearby lake.
The current Rao (ruler) – Narendra Singh – is a yoga teacher and a morning class with him is a wonderful experience and is just part of what makes a stay at Bijaipur an idyllic and charming royal experience, a must to discover Rajasthan beyond the tourist trail.
Stay at Castle Bijaipur with us on our Essence of India tour.
The next departure of this trip is 7th November 2020.
